A Quick Look at Some Books Launching at Thought Bubble

I’ll do a bigger post about this on The Beat as we get closer to the time, but I wanted to share across a few of the books which will be launching at Leeds Thought Bubble this year. There’s plenty of stuff happening – it seems as though there’ll be around 60 book launches at the very least – and it all looks faaaaaaantastic.

At The Theme Park by Lizz Lunney

As described by Lunney, who’ll be debuting at least three new comics at the convention:

This comic contains stories exploring fun times spent throwing up on rollercoasters and waiting in never ending queues.

Boo! by a whole load of creators including Gary Northfield, Jamie Smart, Warwick Johnson-Cadwell, and Rob Davis.

This is a horror anthology for all-ages, featuring eight stories within its pages.

Dungeon Fun by Colin Bell and Neil Slorance

I’ve already read an early version of this, and I absolutely loved it. Keep an eye out!

The Encyclopedia of Early Earth by Isabel Greenberg

Being published by Jonathan Cape, this follows a traveller as they wander the Earth and get to explore our various origins.  Greenberg will also be launching Tall Tales and Outrageous Adventures, her new comic published by Great Beast.

Score and Script by John Miers, others

This looks like it could be picking up a whole load of awards next year. It’s an anthology with an extremely ambitious goal and central idea – you’ll want to read this interview to get a more complete understanding of what’s going on.

Weak as I Am by Nigel Auchterlounie

Otherwise known as Spleenal, Auchterlounie’s fairly unhinged take on superheroes will be published through Blank Slate, and is filled with manic energy.

Just a quick look! You can find a full list over ‘ere.
